Kreis 2 to 6: Zürich's Inner Neighbourhoods
The neighbourhood jewellers and ateliers of Enge, Wiedikon, Aussersihl, the Industriequartier and Unterstrass, a short tram ride from the old town but a different scene entirely: fewer tourists, more working goldsmiths who know their regulars by name. Kreis 2's small supply is grouped in here too rather than left to stand alone. Expect a mix of family-run retail shops and one-person workshops, several with decades on the same street. This is a good hunting ground for a couple who wants personal attention without the old-town price premium. We rank by years on the same address and how much of the work is genuinely done in-house.
