Ann Perica’s studio handles what she describes as heirloom redesigns: taking a ring you have inherited or no longer wear and reworking it into something you will actually use. The stones and metal from the existing piece are assessed, their value credited against the commission, and the new ring is made to a brief developed in conversation with the studio.
The process is essentially the same as a bespoke commission from scratch, with the additional step of evaluating what you’re bringing in. It’s a useful option for engagement rings where the stone has sentimental value but the setting doesn’t suit the wearer’s taste. The studio operates in English and German and is open Tuesday to Saturday, with video consultations also available.
