Frederic Boucheron founded the house in 1858 and first traded under the arcades of the Palais Royal before moving to Place Vendome in 1893, settling at number 26, the corner he chose for its light. The house describes itself as the first of the major jewellers to open on the square, and the Vendome boutique has been kept and restored as the home of the maison.
On the bridal side, two of the house collections carry through to engagement and wedding rings. Serpent Boheme goes back to 1968 and is built around the snake motif Boucheron treats as a symbol of protection and lasting attachment. Quatre draws on the house graphic codes, pairing motifs such as the diamond line and the Clou de Paris, and the Quatre Radiant solitaire combines pave diamonds with the Grosgrain pattern, a nod to the ribbed fabric of Parisian couture. Rings come in white, yellow and pink gold rather than a single classic finish.
In Zurich the collection is shown at Bucherer on Bahnhofstrasse 50 instead of a standalone Boucheron boutique.
